Those watering globes were not working for me. They’re too small & a total pain to clear the soil, from the narrow neck, when you need to refill with more water.

A wine bottle, decorated or not is a great way to self water. I went on a 4 day trip & came back to find my tomato plants were perfect & water was still in the bottle.

Some quick pointers: Fill the wine bottle & when you put it in the soil put it on a slight angle & twist a few times making sure it is firmly placed. Also, if going away for a longer, use another wine bottle (or more).

Simple Decorating Idea: wrap a ribbon around the wine bottle. Wine bottles come with such pretty designs already on the bottle- like the one I am using. Has a more elegant look too.
