Kitchen Remodel & Makeover

Come see how we updated our kitchen with a FrugElegant Makeover…

The wallpaper & white wash cabinets needed to be updated. No contractor needed because I knew what I wanted & my husband & I could handle the project. We did not need to replace the granite countertops because they were replaced about 8 years ago. The granite is Giallo Veneziano Granite.

Here’s the changes we made:

  • New tile floor
  • New cabinet doors (ordered from a cabinet company)
  • Decorative Hardware (got a special discounted rate negotiating with a store that only sells handles- they gave us a contractors price)
  • New canned lights replaced the old fluorescents.

  • A custom looking range hood
  • A larger crown molding installed around the top edge of cabinets gives an elegant custom look.
  • Seeded Glass cut to fit in 2 of the cabinet doors (we ordered & had cut from a glass company)
  • Puck lights added to light up the shelves

  • A spice pull out cabinet (next to cooktop)
  • Lots of pull out drawers

  • A small pantry closet is now a cabinet with a built in wine refrigerator below.

Beautiful decor adds to any & all rooms. Much the same way fashion accessories can make an outfit complete- The decor used here were all found on sale or at favorite discount stores. Hard to tell which items came from Ballard Designs & which came from HomeGoods or even the local craft store. Either way the finishing touch is fabulous—

Hi Kimmie, So sorry but the cabinets were painted by a cabinet company and we don’t have the information on that. The best suggestion if painting yourself (or using a cabinet company) would be to show them the pic and ask for a few samples to best match. A good suggestion is to add a tone from your floor/counter/walls. Apologies for not having the specific information. Thank you for asking!!

Hi Kristen, Home depot can probably color match if given a code for the color. Keep in mind, colors looks different in a home depending on light etc. I would just get a few sample size colors in the tone and take a look in your own lighting for what works closest. Let us know how it goes 😉

Hello, I am desperately trying to find the mix for the wall color. Would you mind sharing the mix information on the label? Unfortunately Kelly Moore isn’t in my state but I would love to color
    Match it.

Hi Ashley, so sorry for our delay in getting the info for you. The tile was done about 7 years ago and unfortunately the receipt does not give the exact name. What we can share with you is the company that the tile was purchased from is: Bedrosians. The tile description says: 20×20 Chiseled Bianco (Beige) 93-CTN and the item code # is CRD JIBI2020C
      We hope this information helps.
      Happy & wonderful New Year!

Your kitchen is lovely! It looks like your cabinet doors are like what are in my new house. Where did you get your cabinet doors? I need a few more and mine are that honey oak (ugh) that will be painted white; but, I want to add a few more.

Thank you very very much in advance – you have also saved me a ton of money because I wasn’t too sure how they would look painted and after finding your site I can see how beautiful it will be!

    Great Job!
